Mt. Hood art #1- Fluid acrylic pour painting- 3D-HAWA
Mt. Hood (art) #1 – HAWA 2018- fluid acrylic painting
15″ x 39″ (outside dimensions of framed unit) is all handmade from solid recycled wood. It is 13 pounds. It will need a stud mounting.
This is the first of a new series that is forming. For the moment we are calling it the “Layers” series. It is a 3D artwork, like a painted diorama. The depth allows natural shadows to develop during the course of the day and ambient lights in the evenings. Painted with our own paint mix (found in our PRO kit) the mountain glimmers, floating above the landscape, as if in a dream.
This painting evolved through the concept and design process of a new artist product line we are working on. This is the first “pour tray” (still working title atm) and what we did with it. We had so much fun discovering the process of making in this Mt. Hood art work, we were beside ourselves in joy when we finished it.
The layers are solid birch wood. The painting on each layer, were with a variety of common controlled pour techniques. When dry, it was assembled.
Just the details:
We painted the frame in our favorite deep gray, threw in some gold accents for that special touch. It’s classy without being brassy. Solid reclaimed wood construction. Weighs 13 pounds.
A 3D Mt. Hood art painting, so, it throws natural shadows and plays with the light it’s exposed to.
It’s amazing and you should be the one to live with, I’m sure of it.
I took the photos outside, no filters and under the covered patio. I love it! It’s gonna be a hard one to part with, I love first times, they are my favorite. 🙂
I hope you enjoy the view and thank you for looking at our work. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or if you would like to commission a work of your own.
