“I’m becoming more and more myself with time. I guess that’s what grace is. The refinement of your soul through time.” ~Jewel
Hello world 🙂 I’m back and I have new work to share! Yay! This is a zone of good stuff…we are gonna ignore all the other stuff, for just a . minute so that we can have a moment of fun and peace. The news of the day can wait 5 minutes, let’s visit the soul work and see what’s come through for us all.
Bring on the ART!
The People, my current new set of works, has run it course, I think…at least for the moment. First, lets look at the first two works:
The new works:
“The past becomes a texture, an ambience to our present. ~Paul Scott
“There must be a positive and negative in everything in the universe in order to complete a circuit or circle, without which there would be no activity, no motion.” ~John McDonald
“Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.” ~Henri Nouwen
These will go to the next First Thursday in the Pearl. September 5, 2019, unless they sell before hand. If you are local and would like to have a private showing at the studio, we can make that happen. Just get in touch. firstname.lastname@example.org
Its been a journey
It’s been a journey, painting, listening, being healed, being told, being guided and loved.
I am letting them go, softly. I have not dreamt of them in a few nights now, so I trust they are done downloading their medicine for the world. I have not painted them in 4 years, so even though I have been painting them for 25 years now, they only come when they come. I have little control. When I paint them to call to them or to control them, they refuse to inhabit the work. Without them, the works are flat and uninspired. On the other side of the whirlwind that they are, I always feel lighter and exhausted. It’s all good. I can work on so many loose ends in other areas of my life.
In other news, we have gotten farther on the studio remodel. A beautiful new cedar shed has been built out back to hold the tools and such from the garage. The entryway job in the studio is next up on the to-do list.
The kits are finishing their trademark roll. We are about 30 days out from being able to really burn rubber on the branding for them. We have the super huge show coming up in November and I want them to be so perfect for that event We are going to go ahead and bring out the next new paint kit too! Yay! My wheels are turning and I’m excited for the future of the pour paint kits!
My health issues are not gone, they never will be, that said, I have felt a little better of late. 🙂 The People paintings have something to do with that, I think.
The puppies are still absolute insanity. We adore them and their baby energy keeping us on our toes. We have almost got the potty training done…lord that will be nice!
Thats all she wrote
I have some new oil painting videos to make this next week so new content is on it’s way. The People have their own movie and the series we are working on, “Portland from the Eastbank” is wrapping up and the “Painting Portland Parks” series has it’s first two works nearing a finish as well, at the moment we are focused on Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden.
I gotta get to work, so much to do. I hope this missive finds you well and good. Big love to all, HA! <3
