Good day to you all, I hope it’s treating you well. I have a new work on the easel, this one will be in the fine art (fixed price) category, in the end.
I will be setting up a Fine Art page this week, I am over hauling the site as we speak, do you like it so far?
Oils on 18″ x 24″ x 2″ Birch wood cradle
Dance of the Deer began, like many other works, with a lucid & powerful, dream.
I saw this beautiful, sparkling like starlight, ballerina. She was setting up to perform her dance, in the desert, of all places. She positioned herself on the sandy cliff’s edge. In the dream I wondered where her music was, she seemed to have nothing with her.
She took her mark, smiled at me, her audience of one. We waited. She stood motionless, carefully breathing for what seemed like an eternity. Suddenly, I heard off in the distance, a humming, like an orchestra tuning up to play. She tapped her slipper against the dry ground and as the Milky Way crested the horizon, she began her dance.
As she moved, I realized her music was the sound of the universe, noticing itself and finding joy. I was no longer an audience of one. Source energy had joined the performance, it’s breath the music I was hearing, Star Song.
I could see bands of energy flowing from the heart of the dancer. I watched, awestruck at how she danced so delicately, like dew resisting dynamic tension, along the unstable edge of earth she had chosen as her stage. The Milky Way rose in the sky behind her and the music became one with the particles of dust, swirling around her white feet. The shape great Stag began to take shape and form, rising from the dust floor. He embraced her, his love held her like a net, and she twirled on one toe, drunk on her own powerful prayer.
It was mesmerizing and soothing all at once.
I laid down on the back of the Stag knowing his message had been imprinted on my soul. He carefully, carried my back to my bed. The dancer, exhausted and spent, blew me a kiss from a face I could not see.
Here’s the progress pictures…still more work to go to get the perfect image that I want. I can see the finish line now though, so…on with it! Yay! New Work! Yay! Passion! Yay! Source Energy! YaY! Love!
the sketching…I always love this stage, I always think…I could stop here, I never do, but I do like it.
Blocking in color and form. I am painting on un primed wood and it does such cool stuff with the paint, so I wipe of the color to keep the grain of the wood visible. (I love it)
foreground and stars get started (day 3)
And this is where I am at now, day 5. It is not easy to paint transparent soul Stag’s. lol just sayin. I hope to finish this week.
This is the latest update from day 6. So close now, I do see that I have had one thing wonky the whole time (her left arm) and now need to correct…so it goes, sometimes it’s hard to see until you spend enough time looking. I’ll make the adjustment and finish her up this week, waiting for paint to dry. sheeeeesh! 🙂
I’d love to hear what you think of the new work, or anything really. So, feel free to hit the comment button, I talk back. Love to everyone, I’ve got to boogie on over the studio and get to work for the day. Email me (at tribealley@gmail . com ) if you think this or any painting is the one for you.
I have some cool stuff up over in the Brave Heart Art Project page too, and I do really need some supplies, so check that out and help an artist out, will ya? 🙂 I am open to barter/trades too on that page, so put your thinking cap on and ask for it!
