I read this poem on Facebook. It was written by a friend named Mary Rives.
I read this poem and sat back with visions spinning to life inside my mind. I immediately knew I would paint something from the reading. I knew she had kicked over something that had been stuck for awhile. I knew something special had just occurred! I saw in my mind’s eye a woman free, powerful and willing to harness energy to complete her mission here on earth. I saw the power of the eclipse and I saw her making magic but learning to let it all go. So, I wrote to Mary and asked for permission to use her words for my painting and to ask if I could share them together because I knew you would want to see the inspiration and to understand the work, you Need to see the amazing poem too. 🙂 I hope you enjoy Mary’s Song as much as I did dreaming it to life.
Raw and radiant, your arty friend forever,
by Mary Rives
Reader of the future,
I am spinning out my seemingly endless stories
that extend with ease or gnarl and groan.
As I yank them from my cells
Waves, please come in to wash light
so my reaching out
will reach your in. ~ Mary Rives
