‘Pay as you go”
24″ x 36″
Back stapled canvas, ready to hang
This is my birthday present to myself. Today I turn 39, for the first time.
I finished this work today, and I thought of about 4 zillion names to call it…but pay as you go seemed to be the one that was right for me. It’s not perfect, it’s all slightly leaning, tilted, like my mind, my eye, my soul. I like that about myself. Now for many years there are 5 of us. Today, I am a 39 year old woman. Whole of heart, mind, body (almost) and soul. My Mate for Life is in the kitchen cooking me my favorite dinner, my children have hugged me all day and said wonderful things to me, I got to sleep in late and take the day off work too. I love my birthday now, even if it’s simple and quiet, I am with people who love and value me, that is all that matters in this world to me.
From this day forward, I vow to never have a terrible birthday again! I’ve paid my dues, it’s time to fucking party. Tonight it’s appletini’s for everyone..hell have two on me!
I hope your day is wonderful and that you are in a place where you can love yourself first, so that the rest of the world can either not matter, or see you for who you really are, a creature full of love and magick.
This weeks FINE ART AUCTIONS (go ahead, you want to look at least!)
P.S. read the post below too…it’s my new book, it’s just back from it’s year long tour of the Southern States, to which I was born into and proudly now call my home again.
